Bought this for my 8-year-old and it has been brilliant in the garden. The built-in screen is the best part because she can see leaves and bugs instantly without needing my laptop.
Arrived quickly and felt better made than I expected for the price. I used the USB connection to save images of old coins, and the detail on the date markings was excellent.
As a science educator, I like products that encourage genuine curiosity. This microscope is portable, simple to focus and very effective for introducing children to magnification and sample observation.
Very good for electronics inspection and solder checks on small boards. At the highest zoom it can be a little tricky to keep perfectly steady by hand, but the image quality is still strong.
I nearly bought a Celestron model after reading a celestron digital microscope review, but chose this instead. For family use, the screen and rechargeable battery made more sense and it has been great value.
